Some of the benefits of handmade jewellery is because the metal has been worked by hand it creates a stronger end product, with more durability than cast pieces. This means that the end product can be finer and more delicate yet still durable enough to withstand a lifetime of everyday wear. CAD and Cast pieces can be a good option however if budget is a consideration, as it cuts down on some of the more laborious processes. This is particularly true for larger pieces with lots of stones. It also allows the client to see his or her design as a fully rendered 3D picture before going ahead, and elements can be modified without wasting metal. We also consider that with some pieces a combination of both handmade and CAD/casting is the best option with tiny claws and delicate joins being handmade for durability.
